Hi there, I’m Anson.
I am an environmental engineer turned financial services professional. My career has always been defined by precision and detail, but while my days are spent navigating the structured world of finance, my creative spirit lives in my studio in New Westminster, BC.
The Intersection of Precision and Art
Springfield Pens started because I became obsessed with understanding how things are made. I brought my engineer's attention to detail to the manual lathe, working on the technical mechanics that make a pen feel just right. I focus on everything from the weight in your hand to how the threads come together perfectly. I believe that a tool you use for your most personal thoughts deserves to be engineered to last a lifetime.
The Search for the "Grail" Pen
I've been in the fountain pen world long enough to know what you're looking for, that one perfect pen. The one that just feels right in your hand, balanced just so, and completely yours. That's what drove me to start making these. I'm not interested in churning out dozens of the same design. There's something special that happens when you put a handmade pen to paper, and I wanted to create that experience.

Every pen I create is a singular event. Once a piece leaves my workshop, that specific design is never replicated.
